LIMBARUH HIJAU NOVEMBER 13, 2006 (RAY): More than 700 members and their families, including foreign diplomats and invited guests, yesterday afternoon converged at the National Development Party (NDP) headquarters in Jerudong for a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house.

At the event, guests were greeted by NDP President Yasin Affandy and NDP Deputy President Mahmud Morshidi Othman, as well as by the organising committee members.

Diplomats and other invited guest were ushered to an allocated room in the building, while NDP members and their families gathered at specially erected camps at the headquarters' compound to witness performances by nasyid and tausyeh groups.

During the event, attendees were entertained with singing performances by the members and a lucky draw with many prizes up for grabs.

Traditional Malay cuisine was served to all guests as well as Hari Raya cakes and cookies.

NDP deputy president said such an occasion is the best time to mingle with other members towards making the season of goodwill, forgiveness and brotherhood a memorable one.

NDP President Yasin Affandy and Secretary General Haj Aminorashid entertaining foreign diplomats, Australian Ambassador and a representative from Indonesian Embassy.

"It is the only time I am able to meet most of the members in an informal occasion to talk on casual issues. And it is only during Hari Raya we can ask for forgiveness from each other to strengthen relationship between the members," he said.
