NDP continues with community care mission

 
 
LIMBARUH HIJAU 18TH DECEMBER 2006: NDP’s Bureau of Welfare, Community and Health continue with its ‘loving and caring mission’ to reach out for unfortunate individuals and families in the community.
In most recent development the bureau made a house call to a paraplegic woman in Kampong Rimba Gadong.

Led by its Chairperson, Hajjah Armah Haji Othman, the bureau learned that Dayang Zaiton in her mid forty has been in such sad condition for the past four years already.

Dayang Zaiton, they learned, is the only breadwinner in the family.

Even in such helpless condition she has to support her three children aged 18, 17 and 7 years.

One of them has been unemployed after leaving school a few years ago while two of them still schooling.

The Bureau’s chairperson Hajah Armah Haji Othman and executive committee member Hajah Rayah Md Ali in a show of love and care presented sacks of rice to the family in a simple ceremony at the house of Dayang Zaiton Hj Md Ali.

Hajah Armah said the small donation was just a gesture to show that NDP do care for people like Dayang Zaiton and her family.

“We hope more caring people will come to the aid of Dayang Zaiton,” she said.

According to Dayang Zaition she is living on $250 disability allowance from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.

Meanwhile, her 18 year-old boy said he is hoping for a career in the army soon.

“I wanted to help my sick mother and my two sisters so they could carry on schooling,” he said.

Dayang Zaiton and her family is residing at No 15, Simpang 355-101-6, Kg Perpindahan Rimba in Gadong.
