“That was not the objective. NDP was formed in response to the wish of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam to see his subjects play more active roles in nation building, in efforts to sustain the peace and prosperity the nation now enjoys and in efforts to secure the future of the nation as a forever peaceful and prosperous Malay, Islamic Monarchical state worthy of the clemency of Allah he Almighty”, reminded the deputy president.
He said NDP leaders at all levels should remain focus on this core matter and not to be distracted by such speculation.
“We still have a lot of works to do and many challenges to face. We still need to put more efforts on strengthening our administration and tidying up our organisation structures. Lets get our priority right”, added sdra Morshidi.
“For example, we need to speed up our efforts on establishing more sub branches in all districts and to recruit more members. At the same time we need to initiate more programs to propagate the party’s vision, missions and objectives to the members at the grassroots level so that they could appreciate more their participation in the party”, said the deputy president.
He also mentioned that NDP at all district levels including their sub branches should by now get ready for the next General Congress that would be held sometime in May next year.
The Constitution has prescribed that NDP at district level and its sub branches should hold its district level General Congress earlier to elect representatives to the national level General Congress, according to the deputy president.
“We should by now get busy preparing for the national level General Congress instead of focusing our attention on such speculation”, said sdra Morshidi adding that it is the prerogative of His Majesty to decide when general election would be held.
“Do not waste our time speculating but be busy getting ready by getting our priority right”, said sdra Morshidi.
