Call on former political activists to remain loyal to nation and His Majesty

 
 
LIMBARUH HIJAU NOVEMBER 15, 2006: Bruneians who fled the country and went on exile in neighboring countries over two decades ago because of their political conviction during the nation’ struggle for full independence and sovereignty were told to remain patriotic towards the nation, the people and the monarchy.

“You had made your sacrifices for the nation. You are a living history in the nation's struggle for full independence and sovereignty. It is therefore important for all of you to continue upholding your undivided love and loyalty to the nation, its people and the monarchy; the patriotic spirit that had once compelled all of you to leave the country and lived as exiles”, advised sdra Mahmud Morshidi Othman, the Deputy President of the National Development Party (NDP) to over 30 former student activists and politicians at a recent ‘bertahlil’ ceremony. It was held at Limbaruh Hijau n Jerudong.

NDP Deputy President, Sdra Morshidi told former exiles to remain steadfast with their patriotic spirit.
The bertahlil (mass prayer session) ceremony was held in dedication to Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saiffudein, the late father of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam and other leaders, royal family members and individuals including Awang Emran bin Haji Saleh who were involved in the nation struggled for independence.

The President of NDP Awang Yasin Affandy was also in attendance at the ‘bertahlil’ ceremony.

It was learnt that many of the returning exiles are now working in the government. Sdra Morshidi advised them to carry out their duties to the nation diligently and to remain loyal and faithful to the nation, its people and to His Majesty the Sultan.
